Dr. John H. Corcoran Scholarship

Hoping to enlarge an appreciation of our Irish heritage, culture and faith, The Society of the Friendly Sons of Saint Patrick of Lackawanna County established in 1984 a scholarship to be awarded in alternate years by The University of Scranton and Marywood University to a student who is desirous of studying in Ireland for a semester. The scholarship winner is chosen based on a grade point average of 3.0 or above, service, activities, interests, work experience and a personal statement and essay.

In 1994, this Scholarship was renamed in honor of Dr. John H. Corcoran in recognition of his loving and endlessly faithful service to the Friendly Sons.
