Michael Brown, Sr., RPh
Current Vice President
Michael Brown is the President and Owner of Andrew Brown’s Drugstore and Home Health Care Center. Following his graduation from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy in 1983, Mr. Brown returned to South Scranton to assist his father in the family-owned business. He is the third President in the store’s history, following in the footsteps of his grandfather Andrew and his father Robert. The store, which opened in 1912, has been family-owned and operated throughout its history, serving Scranton and the surrounding areas.
Mr. Brown holds a deep reverence and respect for the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick of Lackawanna County. His father, Robert, served as Secretary in 1983, the same year his cousin and close friend, Tom Gallagher, served as President. This connection has given Mr. Brown a sincere appreciation for the rich history of the Friendly Sons and the meaningful relationships it has fostered between fathers and sons over the years.
Outside of his professional life, Mr. Brown is deeply committed to his community. Along with his late wife, Meg, he co-chaired the St. Paul’s Parish Block Party and remained actively involved in various youth sports throughout his sons’ childhoods. Since Meg’s untimely passing in 2016, Mr. Brown has dedicated himself to raising funds for the Meg Cullen-Brown SMART Program at The University of Scranton, a cause close to his heart.
Mr. Brown is the proud father of three sons: Michael, Ryan, and Jake. His dedication to family and community is evident in all aspects of his life, reflecting the values instilled in him through generations of service.
As the next President of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick of Lackawanna County, Mr. Brown brings a rich legacy of leadership, community involvement, and dedication to the organization. His professional expertise, coupled with his personal commitment to the betterment of his community, positions him as an exemplary leader for the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick.
